Enjoy the Pyrenees experience!
Luz Saint Sauveur is a village that is rich in terms of culture, sport and fine dining. Make your stay or weekend in the Pyrenees unforgettable!

Key natural sites

The hotel is located at the crossroads of key sites in a historic Pyrenees setting. Just half an hour by road from the famous Cirque de Gavarnie, which is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. It is three-quarters of an hour away from the Pic du Midi cable car departure point leading to the world-renowned Solar observatory, where you will be able to visit the planetarium and meet researchers or take part in their many activities (concerts, conferences, etc.). Not forgetting the legendary Col du Tourmalet just half-an-hour’s drive away, the most famous stage of the Tour de France, which still regularly passes through it.

Lourdes

You will be based just thirty minutes away from the holy town of Lourdes. Perfect for a day’s visit to the sanctuary and grotto. Not forgetting Lourdes fortress and the Pic du Jer.

Sports and hikes

A wealth of spectacular sporting activities such as canyoning, via ferrata, paragliding, rafting and bungee jumping are available a few minutes from the hotel. In addition, Luz’s guides’ office is just a stone’s throw away from the hotel.

You will be at the heart of legendary paths such as the three cirques in the Gavarnie valley (Cirque de Gavarnie/Estaubé/Troumouse) or the GR10, the great hiking trail through the Pyrenees. It is also the starting point for legendary ascents such as Vignemale (3,298 m), the highest summit in the French Pyrenees, officially scaled for the first time in 1838 by an exceptional woman, Miss Anne Lister, and Monte Perdido (3,355 m).

Ski / Winter season

During the winter season, come and discover the charm of Pyrenees ski resorts. The hotel is situated near three resorts: Grand Tourmalet (15 minutes), Luz Ardiden (25 minutes) and Gavarnie (45 minutes). If the weather conditions are favourable, you will be able to appreciate the natural setting of these resorts, which have stayed true to nature with great powder snow.

Grand Tourmalet offers the largest ski area in the French Pyrenees with a wide variety of accessible slopes for all abilities and several snow parks, all in an exceptional setting with the famous Col du Tourmalet and Pic du Midi, which can be accessed by cable car for the ascent and descent, or you can descend off piste when accompanied by a guide. Gavarnie is the resort that has remained the most natural of all, making it a great choice for a family ski outing. You will be able to enjoy a fabulous view over the Brèche de Roland when you reach the top of the resort.

Luz Ardiden is another family-friendly resort that also offers slopes used during the world ski championships.

In all these resorts, a host of ski professionals will be happy to welcome you to provide you with equipment, advice or information about different winter sports.

And if you’re not a skier or snowboarder, don’t worry! Many activities are available for you: snowshoe hikes, sleigh rides, ice skating rinks, etc.
